About the academy
In 2012 Arisa Khemthong and Niran Sutham began meeting two evenings a week above a paper shop, marking commodity and equity charts by hand after their own desk jobs ended. The table sat four people. When a fifth chair had to live in the corridor, they registered Notion Vertexfield Academy Co., Ltd. in 2015 and moved the circle to a ground-floor room in Bang Phli large enough for eight desks.
The company name is the one on the register. The work did not become a different trade when the sign went up. Students still receive printed weekly, daily, and four-hour sheets. The lesson is still whether those sheets agree.
Arisa leads the Desk Cycle through week four and the Saturday workshop. She spent eleven years as a clerk on a Bangkok commodity desk before teaching, and she still marks her own weekly sheet on Sunday afternoon before anyone arrives. In class she asks for sentences, then for pencil marks.
Niran leads weeks five and six, when the four-hour sheet is allowed to disagree with the week, and he takes most Thursday consultations. He came out of a futures clerking desk and is patient with messy paper. He would rather erase a line than defend it.
A wrong line is ordinary. The instructor does not cover it with a better one. The student says what the line was meant to be. If the explanation needs the lower timeframe to make sense, the line comes off the higher sheet. That habit is slower than handing over a finished map, and it is the reason the room stayed at eight seats instead of growing into a hall.
Many students work freight, airline, or warehouse shifts near Suvarnabhumi and come after 18:00. Tuesday evenings and Saturday afternoons are set for that timetable. Instruction is in English, which matches the paperwork a lot of those shifts already use. Neighbours who want a quieter first look are pointed to the Saturday, not pushed into a six-week seat.
